Over My Horizon

About

Where you live shapes who you become.

Over My Horizon (omh.sg/) is a lifestyle publication built for people who believe home is not just an address — it is a feeling, a culture, and a chapter waiting to be written. We exist for the movers, the settlers, the quietly curious: anyone who has ever stood at the edge of a new city and wondered what life might look like if they stayed.

Our story

We started Over My Horizon out of a simple frustration. Property coverage in this part of the world tends to fall into two camps: glossy developer brochures that promise everything, and dry listings that tell you square footage but nothing about whether you would actually be happy there. Neither helped the people we knew who were trying to make one of the biggest decisions of their lives — where to live.

So we set out to write the guide we wished existed. One that treats a neighbourhood the way a good friend would describe it: honestly, specifically, and with a clear sense of who it would and would not suit.

What we cover

We explore real estate and relocation through the lens of lifestyle. Our work falls into three areas:

  • Discover — curated guides to the neighbourhoods, hidden corners, and emerging districts that give a city its character. The places worth knowing about, well beyond the tourist trail.
  • City Living — honest relocation and expat intelligence. The logistics, the costs, the culture shocks, and the small daily realities that decide whether a move feels like a fresh start or a mistake.
  • Properties — a thoughtful, hype-free view of the market. From HDB wisdom and first-home strategy to the developments quietly reshaping how we live across modern Asia.

Where we cover

Our focus is Southeast Asia and the places its residents move between — Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the wider region, with Australia on the horizon. We write about these places because we know them, live in them, and care about getting them right.

How we work

We pay for our own coffees and our own flights. When we recommend a neighbourhood, a building, or a way of doing things, it is because we genuinely think it is worth your attention — not because someone paid for the placement. If that ever changes for a specific piece, we will tell you plainly within it.

Say hello

We are always glad to hear from readers — whether you have a question, a correction, a place we should cover, or simply a story about your own move. Reach us any time through our contact page, and join the list on our Get Notified page to be first to read what comes next.
