As other industries embraced innovation, we saw a gap in the real estate market where transactions are carried out in a traditional manner. The lack of expertise, information, and quality services opened opportunities for us to increase efficiency, save costs and execute transactions more easily.

Who is Race Wong?

Born in Malaysia and raised in Singapore, Race Wong serves as Chief Product Officer (CPO) and co-founder of Ohmyhome. She holds a Master’s degree in Business from the University of Newcastle, where she majored in Marketing. She speaks fluent Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.

Ohmyhome is the brainchild of Race. Managing the day-to-day activities including product-related activities, technology development, and customer relations, she was instrumental to Ohmyhome’s successes where more than 4,500 property transactions worth over S$1 billion have transacted through Ohmyhome.

We founded Ohmyhome to create a one-stop solution to make housing transactions simpler, faster, and affordable for all home owners and home seekers.

Co-founding Ohmyhome

The year she turned 30, Race made a surprising move to relocate back to Singapore where her family is based. Seasoned in the real estate sector, Race co-founded Anthill Corporation, a CEA-licensed real estate agency in 2013, where she actively led the team in its marketing and communications activities. She thus played a major role in expanding the business and sourcing commercial investments for corporations.

She then co-founded Ohmyhome Pte Ltd in 2015, a tech company focused on connecting buyers to sellers, landlords to tenants in real estate.

When asked about her career move, Race said that she wanted to focus her attention on something that will provide more value to people, something on the opposite spectrum of her celebrity lifestyle.

It is a great privilege and honour to be recognized alongside the many outstanding women. The purpose of the award is to encourage other women by sharing our stories. If I am able to achieve my dreams and goals, many others can do so too!

Awards

For her efforts in building Singapore’s First One-Stop Property Solution, Race was awarded Glamour Award for Outstanding Woman in the Entrepreneur Category in 2019. Under Race’s leadership, Ohmyhome was recognized as the Best E-Commerce Startup at 2018 Singapore Rice Bowl Startup Awards. In January 2017, Ohmyhome emerged as Singapore’s #1 HDB app.

Making housing transactions simple, fast and affordable is at the heart of everything we do.

Ohmyhome’s Official Launch

Race began conceptualizing Ohmyhome in the first quarter of 2015 when she came across some of the issues that people face when buying, selling, and renting a home. This prompted Race to develop smart solutions that simplify the housing transaction. The platform officially launched in September 2016, and first targets the HDB market, which is the largest sector of our housing market where around 82% of Singaporeans live in.

PropTech Innovation Centre

On 22 March 2019, Ohmyhome officially moved to its 11,000 square foot PropTech Innovation Centre in Toa Payoh, which serves as the company’s main headquarters. Race spearheaded the centre’s modern interior design to reflect our fast-growing and solution-driven team. She said, “I envisioned this centre to be a space for our community of brilliant innovators, to execute ideas that will transform the world of real estate.”
